Frequently Asked Questions About Castor and Wheelie Bin Wheels

How Do I Choose Suitable Wheels?

We design our wheels to accommodate various bin and trolley products; when selecting suitable wheels, consider the specific requirements of your application.

We recommend clicking through and carefully reading the product description of each item. For instance, our regular wheelie bin wheels are suitable replacement parts for bins of varying capacities, including 80-litre, 120-litre, 140-litre, and 240-litre wheelie Bins.

Our Heavy-Duty Steel Castor Wheels are engineered to handle large volumes of items for applications demanding robust and heavy-duty solutions. These wheels are well-suited for environments such as the food processing industry, manufacturing warehouses, or any setting where hygiene is a top priority. These wheels provide durability and reliability in demanding scenarios, supporting bins up to 4.5 meters.

If you find that none of our standard wheel options meet your specific requirements, Rotaform Plastics offers customisation services. Feel free to reach out, and we can discuss tailoring a solution to your needs.

Do Your Castor and Wheelie Bin Wheels Have Brakes?

Certainly! Brakes reduce the risk of personnel injury and enhance safety in handling waste containers during loading and unloading, stopping a bin from rolling away when stationary. This additional safety measure is particularly valuable in environments commonly disposing of heavy materials, providing peace of mind and preventing potential accidents.

If you require wheels with brakes, we recommend checking the product descriptions for details on which models include this important safety feature.

Are Wheelie Bin Wheels Easy to Replace?

Replacing the wheels on your wheelie bin is straightforward. Addressing issues such as old, damaged, or misaligned wheels is simple. The steps for replacement depend on the size of your bin.

For smaller-sized bins, follow these steps:

  1. Lay the bin flat on its side.
  2. Use a sharp tool to cut a small hole in the wheel towards the centre, exposing the spring-loaded steel pin inside.
