Overview
Loscam is a trusted name for providing pooling and returnable packaging solutions for use in supply chains. After trialling several bin solutions, Loscam approached Rotaform to custom design a robust crate that could hold over 400kg whole chicken for Coles.
Challenge
Loscam were looking for a solution to reduce their large freight costs and take out costs out of the supply chain process.
Solution
Rotaform designed and manufactured custom-made folding crates to ship whole chickens through the Coles supply chain. The products were developed so that the crate could become a general pool crate for hire by Loscam.
Rotaform worked alongside suppliers and the Coles processing plant Retail Ready Operation Australia (RROA). The RROA is a brand new automated chicken and beef processing line designed to take cost out of the supply chain process. The crate can hold 780 litres and around 550kg chicken each.
